Busy day
Posted On Saturday, October 25, 2008 at at 8:26 PM by RobertWhat a busy day. I was able to succeed in changing the URLs to several sites, I finished a good amount of pages on my website to be updated to v3, I have almost gotten my url to the official blog to be changed, and I have also experimented with a photogallery system and I really like it.
I cannot wait till I work on the online pc game and start earning money, enough money to get a Windows 7 laptop, hopefully. :)
Getting ready for v3
Posted On at at 9:10 AM by RobertSigh... Hopefully version 4 will be easier to update. Version 3 is pretty much 'ready' as in I can change all of the websites (hosted under my domain) urls to a different setup. I plan on having 'username.robertcity.com/forum, blog, web, ect.'. I am giving the support forum a new setup as well, so instead of SMF 1.1.6, it will be run under phpBB3.0. I sure hope that it works fine.
Plus my blog situation is so horrible. I have two blogs, one of which (this one) is actually 'replacing' the old one, located at http://myblog.robertcity.com. It has been around since April 2008 of this year. I have a livejournal account (I believe it's called that) which has been around since last year fall. So this may replace the old wp online blog/journal.
Plus I have a new situation here, I am planning on offering wordpress blogs, yet blogger is better than wordpress, so it's a so-so situation where I must decide today pretty much if I want to use blogger or wordpress for the overal service.
Plus version 3 is also getting a registeration system, which should soon become a memberlist system, and I plan on trying to code a message forum around spring of 2009. Who knows.
The things the boss/owner of a business does. :P
All of this work for a sub-domain?
Posted On Friday, October 24, 2008 at at 8:41 PM by RobertWow, so apparently I'm going to have quite a bit of fun trying to setup a sub-domain for my RobertCity.com blog. Apparently, you have to not only make the sub-domain, but get a CNAME record for the sub-domain to reach blogger. I've googled around, and sure enough, others have tried to find out how to do it but the only way is to use the host's helpdesk. Sigh, that means live chat.
I'm guessing that they are used to the request though.
I cannot wait till my blog is fixed. Thanks to me loading up three very huge web urls at the same time, now I'm in this mess.
Grrrr
Posted On at at 10:14 AM by RobertWhat a wonderful title for my first blog post.
Well, after a wonderful adventure with WordPress, I have been convinced that Blogger, BlogSpot, ect, is a better choice than WP. Already I like the fact that spell check exists using FireFox when making a post, unlike WP.
Might as well 'introduce' myself. *rolls eyes*
I'm 15 1/2, I am a webmaster and game maker, I know the programs (in order) HTML, CSS, XHTML, small bit of JavaScript, PHP, MySql, and I know a small bit of Perl, Ajax, and Basic.
